The southern suburbs of Navi Mumbai are connected to Mumbai through a narrow 6-lane bridge from Vashi to Mankhurd, one that barely handles the vehicular bandwidth when everything is smooth. During rush hour the slightest of snags – a broken-down truck, a slow lorry, an accident – creates a jam along its entire length. Unfortunately, this happens all to often. Sigh..
Hmm.. have just given up work in the western suburbs. Because my commute which used to be comfortable earlier is getting less so. The trains are quite full, and road traffic has become unusually heavy over the past few months – despite the new SCLR. Glad to not have to commute this monsoon.
