I photographed this Bonaparte’s Gull in Cannon Beach, Oregon, while still getting a feel for my then new D7200 and the kit 18-140mm lens.
I like the look of this photo quite a bit. It works great as a wallpaper because of its muted colors and even tone. It’s when you look closer that the image falls a bit short – its soft. The 18-140 kit lens is the worst I’ve used in terms of image quality. If I could go back in time & space and take this photo again, I’d change two things – switch to my 200-500mm and increase the shutter speed.
